The app records on your Mac only

Kliply captures your screen, game audio, and — if you enable them — your microphone and voice-chat apps, into a temporary buffer in your Mac's memory. Clips are only written to disk when you save one (or an auto clip triggers), in a folder you choose. Recordings never leave your Mac. We have no servers that receive clips, no cloud storage, no analytics and no crash reporting.

To detect game moments, Kliply reads data the games expose locally for companion tools (Riot's Live Client Data API on 127.0.0.1, Valve's Game State Integration, and World of Warcraft's combat log file). This data is processed on your Mac and not sent anywhere.

License activation

When you enter a license key, Kliply sends the key and your Mac's name to our reseller's license server (Lemon Squeezy) to activate it, and re-checks it about every few days. This is necessary to provide the product you bought (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). No other data is sent.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles payment, invoicing and VAT. Lemon Squeezy shares your name, email address, country and order details with us so we can provide support and licenses. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy.

This website

kliplyapp.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use cookies, trackers or analytics on this site. The checkout window is loaded from Lemon Squeezy only when you click "Buy".

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you and keep it as long as needed for support and legal obligations.

Retention

Order and license records are kept for 7 years because Dutch tax law requires it. Support emails are deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR (AVG) you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing. Email [email protected]. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
